Distribution Comments:

Helena Chert is associated with the Helena Limestone Formation of west central Montana.  Primary outcroppings occur in the Belt Mountains and the upper portion of and the slopes east of Helena, Lewis and Clark County, Montana.  This is considered an exotic material.
