Hales Chert is associated with the Hales Limestone Formation of central Nevada.  Primarily occurs as nodules and lenses towards the bottom of the formation in northern Nye County, Nevada.  Named for the Hales mine shaft, Tybo mine.  Primary outcroppings occur in Tybo Canyon of the Hot Creek Range.
