Color: Devil
Peak Obsidian is black. Phenocrysts inclusion occur on material
from the east of Devils Peak.

Luster: West material tends to be
brittle and translucent, East material tends to be opaque with
inclusions.

Devil Peak Obsidian occurs as small pebbles or "Apache Tears"
near Umpire and Picture Rock mines over a large area in Spring
Mountains, Clark County, Nevada. Two geochemical groups listed,
East Devils Peak and West Devils Peak.
