Clough Quartzite is associated with the Clough Quartzite Formation of Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Connecticut.  Primarily occurs as beds in the Amherst region west of the Connecticut Valley boarder fault, the Bronson Hill anticlinorium, and the west limb of the Northfield syncline.
