Braintree Hornfels are associated with the Braintree Argillite Formation of Massachusetts and Connecticut.  The primary source is the Massachusetts Braintree Slate/Hornfels quarry.  Braintree Hornfels is found throughout eastern Massachusetts and into Connecticut.
