Antelope Wells Obsidian occurs as marekanites / nodules (up to 10 cm) with primary sources being Antelope Wells, Hidalgo County, New Mexico and thought to be at the head of Clanton Draw in the Peloncillo Mountains.  Secondary sources are the Clanton Draw in the Peloncillo Mountains and Deer Creek drainage in the southern Animas Mountains and into Chihuahua, Mexico.
