Description of Physical Characteristics and Flaking Pattern:
This is a thin medium auriculate point with a flattened to thin elliptical cross section. The blade is primarily excurvate and may slightly flare out towards the base. Fine pressure flaking on the blade may form fine serrations. The base is concave forming basal ears or auricle that point downward. Basal grinding and hafting region grinding are present on this point. This point has a random to oblique flaking pattern.
Size Measurements: Total Length -
50 to 91 mm (average 75mm), Blade Width - 24 to 28 mm (average 25
mm), Thickness - 6 to 8 mm (Powell, 1992).

Distribution Comments:
This point is primarily found in northern Florida and into Southern Florida and southeastern Alabama.

Additional Comments:
This point is thought to be an intermediate type between Clovis and Dalton, Simpson and Suwannee types. This point is thinner than the Suwannee type and does not have a constricting waist like a
Simpson type (Granger and Granger, 2013).
Powell (1992) describes "this form represents, both physically and
temporally, an intermediate entity between the unfluted Clovis and members
of the southeastern Dalton complex".
