Description of Physical Characteristics and Flaking Pattern:
This is a thin medium triangular expanding stem point with
an elliptical to flattened cross section. The blade is primarily incurvate, but may vary to straight. The shoulders are
well defined and at an upward angle. Wide concavities enter the base of this point forming the shoulders and an expanding stem. The base is concave. The stem and base are commonly beveled with the stem being beveled on alternating, or the same face. This point has a random flaking
pattern.
Size Measurements: Total Length - 40 to
73 mm, Stem Length 14 to 23 mm (typically 1/4 to 1/3 of the total
length), Blade Width - 20 to 35 mm, Stem Width at Narrowest
- 9 to 13 mm, Basal Width - 10 to 18 mm

This point is primarily found in the lower Pecos and lower Rio Grande regions. This point is found with decreased frequency into southern and south-central Texas.

Schuetz was a pioneering anthropologist who conducted extensive studies and excavations
through out Texas and into Mexico. She conducted studies on the Mission Indians of San Antonio which greatly increased our understanding of that culture. This type was named in a professional publication and
