Description of Physical Characteristics and Flaking Pattern:
This is a small to medium triangular side notch point with a thin
elliptical cross section. The blade is excurvate. Notches
enter the preform low on the blade forming a shoulder that is horizontal
to having a slight upward angle. The stem is expanded with a
convex base and rounded basal corners giving the base a "rocker"
appearance. The stem is wider than the blade. This point has
a random flaking pattern. Size Measurements: Length - average 40 mm, Blade Width -
average 19 mm, Thickness - average
4 mm

These point are primarily found in Loma and Guadiana Chalchihuites
cultural regions of Chihuahua, Durango, Zacatecas, San Luis Potosi,
Jalisco, and Aguascalientes Mexico.

This is a variation of the Cruz de la Boca side notch, but differs in that
the Cruz de la Boca has a broader blade and the stem is the same width, or
narrower, than the blade while this point has a base wider than the blade (Spence, 1971).
