Description of Physical Characteristics and Flaking Pattern:

This is a medium triangular side notch point with a thin elliptical cross section.  The blade is long, narrow, and excurvate.  Notches enter the side of the perform forming a shoulder that is at a slight upward angle.  The stem is slightly expanding with a straight base that is as wide, or slightly wider than the shoulders.  The basal corners are slightly rounded.  This point has a random flaking pattern.

Size Measurements:   Length - 39 to 64 mm (average 52 mm),  Blade Width - 17 to 23 mm (average 21 mm), Thickness - 3 to 7 mm (average 5 mm)

These point are primarily found in Loma and Guadiana Chalchihuites cultural regions of Durango and southern Chihuahua.

Similar to the Atotonilco Side Notch, but the Atotonilco Side Notch tend to be wider, shorter, and have a straight to slightly concave base (Spence, 1971).
