Description of Physical Characteristics and Flaking Pattern:
This is a small to medium triangular to ovoid expanding stem point
with a thin cross section. The blade is excurvate and has two to
three notches on both edges above the base. The shoulders are
asymmetrical and commonly at an upward angle. The stem is
expanding with a convex base. This point is made from an ovoid
preform and has a random flaking pattern.
Size Measurements: Length - 21 to 49 mm (average 25 mm), Blade Width -
10 to 16 mm (average 12 mm), Thickness - 3 to 6 mm (average
4 mm)

These point are primarily found in Loma, Guadiana Chalchihuites, and
Suchil Chalchihuites cultural regions of Chihuahua, Durango, Zacatecas,
San Luis Potosi, Jalisco, and Aguascalientes Mexico.

Points associated with the Loma culture have
deeper notches that points associated with the Suchil and Guadiana
Chalchihuites cultures. This point is thought to have been developed
by the Rio Suchil culture and passed into the Loma culture (Spence, 1971).
