Description of Physical Characteristics and Flaking Pattern:

This is a small triangular stemmed point.  The cross section may vary from elliptical to lenticular.  The blade may vary from straight to excurvate.  The shoulders are primarily horizontal, but may vary to a slight barb to a having an upward slope.  The stem is straight to slightly contracting and is commonly short.  The base is primarily straight, but may vary to convex.  The basal edge is usually beveled.  This point has a random flaking pattern.

This point is primarily found in Wabash Valley and into the Ohio River Valley and the Illinois River Valley.  This point is found in areas associated with the Riverton Culture.
