This is a
thick medium triangular stemmed point with an elliptical cross section. The blade is primarily excurvate, except some smaller examples may have a straight blade. The shoulders may vary from horizontal to an upward angle. The stem
is short and thick and may range from straight to slightly expanding. The base is most commonly convex, but may vary to straight.
Cortex generally remains on the stem or base. This point has a random flaking pattern.

to 92 mm (average 55 to 65 mm), Stem Length - 9 to 15
mm, Blade Width - 20 to 33 mm, Stem Width at Shoulder -
13 to 18 mm, Basal Width - 13 to 19 mm

This point is most commonly found in the mid-Ohio River valley.

This point has been confused with the Flint River point from the Alabama / Tennessee area. The Flint River point is a Woodland point while this is a late Archaic point.
Many of these points were made from water-worn rocks and residual blocks which creates a think worn point (Justice, 2002).
