Description of Physical Characteristics and Flaking Pattern:
This is a large lanceolate stemmed blade
with a plano convex cross section. One face commonly has a
median ridge while the other face is flat. The blade is
excurvate with the midsection becoming almost parallel and curving
back in towards the base. The may vary from slightly barbed to
having a slight upward angle. On shoulder is wider than the
other with the edge with the wide shoulder being more excurvate and
the narrow shoulder edge being straighter. The stem is narrow
ranges from straight to contracting with a base that varies from
rounded to pointed. This point is manufactured with broad
percussion flaking and minimal pressure flaking around the edges
forming a random flaking pattern.
