Mellren and Runge were avocational archaeologist who discovered the Goddard site and excavated this site over the span of 17 years.  This site was know for triangular points and small side notched points which were referred to as Goddard Side Notch points.  There are no professional publications that use this name, but there are many collector type references to this type.  This is considered a collector type.

Description of Physical Characteristics and Flaking Pattern:
This is a thin small to medium triangular side notch point with a thin elliptical to flattened cross section.  The blade is primarily excurvate, but may range to straight on smaller examples.  Wide parallel notched form a shoulder that is horizontal and a stem that is expanded.  The stem may vary from as wide as the shoulders to slightly wider than the shoulders.  The stem is expanded with a straight to slightly convex base.  The basal corners are generally rounded.
