Steege was a well published archaeologist and president of the Cheyenne Chapter of the Archaeological Society of Wyoming.  This type was named in a professional publication, but has limited professional discussion.  This is considered a valid type.

Description of Physical Characteristics and Flaking Pattern:
This is a small to medium triangular corner notch point with an elliptical to thin elliptical cross section.  The blade is primarily excurvate, but may vary to straight on re-sharpened examples.  The shoulders vary from horizontal to slightly barbed with an expanding stem.  The base may range from concave to slightly convex.  This point has a random flaking pattern.    
Size Measurements:

Total Length - 18 to 40 mm,  Stem Length - 4 to 7 mm,  Blade Width - 13 to 21 mm,  Neck Width - 7 to 11 mm,  Stem Width - 11 to 19 mm

This type has been divided into the dart form and the arrow form. The dart form is slightly larger than the arrow form. The difference between the dart form and the arrow form can be small. Hildebrandt and King (2012) proposed a formula for determining the difference between a dart and arrow.
