Description of Physical Characteristics and Flaking Pattern:
This is a medium triangular side (most common) to corner notch point with a thin elliptical cross section.  The blade may vary from straight to slightly incurvate.  The blade is rarely serrated.  Shallow notches enter low on the blade forming a shoulder that may vary from horizontal (most common) to barbed.  The stem is expanding, but may vary to expanded.  The base may range from slightly concave to straight.  This point has a random flaking pattern.

These points have a wide range of sizes and shapes. They are non-Gunther notched type points found in the Sacramento River Valley. Basgall and Hildebrandt (1989) divide this series into side notch and corner notch. They noted that the side notch variant was more common and felt that they were the older variant of the series.
