Description of Physical Characteristics and Flaking Pattern:
This is a small thin triangular point with an expanding stem. This pont has a flattened to elliptical cross section. The blade may vary from straight to excurvate. The shoulders are barbed with an expanding stem. The base is convex giving the stem a bulbous appearance. This point has a random flaking pattern.

This point is thought to be a regional variant of the Perdiz point primarily found in the Corpus Christi region and north Padre Island (Turner and Hester, 1985). However, Corbin (1974) feels that this is a distinct and separate type.
This point is similar to the Alba point, however the Alba type has a straight stem with a straight base while this point has excavate stem edges and a convex base giving a bulbous appearance (Moore, 2015).
Richard A. Weinstein (2002) identified three variations of this point at the Guadalupe Bay site. He labeled these as the Bulbar, Calhoun, and Rupley Lake points. For descriptions of the variations, see Weinstein 2002:368-370, Appendix K
