This type is associated with Buck Garden ceramics.  Projectile points associated with Buck Garden people are generally side to corner notch or triangular and are commonly crudely made (McMichael, 1963).

McMichael (1965) states that the Buck Garden Culture developed from the earlier Armstrong culture.

Loyd Doty notes:

BUCK GARDEN – was named for examples recovered from the Buck Garden Creek archaeology site in Nicholas County, West Virginia.  They date to the Buck Garden Cultural period (500-1200 years before present).  This point type is another variety of the triangular projectiles that occurred over most of the eastern half of the nation during the Woodland through Mississippian period.  (See Garden Creek) Reference: McMichael, Edward V. 1968, Introduction to West Virginia Archeology. University of West Virginia.
