Additional Comments:
This is a rarely found point of the Brewerton Complex. This point is primarily found in the northeastern states and into the Ohio River Valley. It is rarely found in any of the other highlighted areas.
Richie (1971) suggest that this variant was developed from the earlier Brewerton Side notch point,. Justice (1987) argues that this point most likely did not develop from the Side Notch point, but is an extension of the Eared Triangle form. He notes that examples of both types, when the length is the same, the Eared Triangle variation is wider and thinner suggesting that this is a re-sharpened version of the Eared Triangle.
