Bonnichsen was a pioneering anthropologist from Idaho who founded the Center for the Study of the First Americans. He named this type in a professional publication. There are limited references to this points since this time. Thomas Green describes these in his discussion on “Aboriginal Residential Structures in Southern Idaho” Journal of California and Great Basin Anthropology Vol 15 No. 1 pg 58-72, but limited other references were located.

Description of Physical Characteristics and Flaking Pattern:
This is a small ovoid contracting stem point with an elliptical cross section. The blade is primarily excurvate. The shoulders are weak to absent with a long contracting stem. The base may vary from pointed (Type A) to having rounded basal corners and a straight base (Type B). This point has a random flaking pattern.
