Loyd Doty reports:
AUCILLA RIVER (Contracted Stem) – was provisionally named by Lloyd E. Schroder for examples recovered from sites along the Aucilla River in Florida. They are asymmetrical knives with short parallel sided stems with straight or round bases with an average 2” length. They are found in Florida and were in use during the Early Archaic period. Note: This point type has not been formalized therefore, the name is likely used by local collectors only.
