Michael Spence is a distinguished anthropologist who retired Professor Emeritus from the Department of Anthropology, University of Western Ontario. He conducted extensive research in Mexico and Ontario. This type was identified in his publication on cultures of Mexico.

Description of Physical Characteristics and Flaking Pattern:
This is a small to medium triangular corner notch point with a thin elliptical cross section.  The blade is broad with excurvate edges.  The blade may range from short and stubby to long.  Notches enter the corners of the preform and may range from shallow to deep.  Shoulders vary from very slightly barbed to horizontal.  The stem is short, broad and expanding with a straight to slightly convex.  This point has a random flaking pattern.

Length - 19 to 36 mm (average 25 mm),  Blade Width - 15 to 27 mm (average 21 mm), Thickness - 2 to 6 mm (average 4 mm)
