This point is credited to Lloyd McLeod (private collector) who reported his finding to the Oregon Archaeological Society in 1959 (see: Screenings 1959 Vol 4-8) regarding site 45KL41. In 1962 Robert Butler excavated this site, but made no reference to Atlatl Valley triangular points. No professional references to this type has been made since then. Many collectors sources refer to this type. This point is a collector type
Description of Physical Characteristics and Flaking Pattern:
This is a small to medium triangular knife with an elliptical cross section. The blade may vary from excurvate to straight. This point commonly has beveling on one edge of each face. This point may be uni-facial. The base ranges from straight to slightly convex. Basal thinning or beveling is commonly seen, but basal grinding is absent. This knife has a random flaking pattern.
