Description of Physical Characteristics and Flaking Pattern:
This is a medium to large (2 1/2 to 5 inches) triangular corner notch point with an elliptical cross section.  The blade may vary from slightly excurvate to straight.  The shoulders are barbed with an expanding stem.  The base is primarily straight, but may vary from slightly concave to slightly convex.  This point has a random flaking pattern.

ANDERSON (Corner Notch) (B) – was named by amateur John T. Dowd in 1972 and formally described by archaeologists Bruce Lindstrom and Kenneth Stevenson for examples recovered from the Anderson archaeological site (40WM9) on the Harpeth River in Williamson County, Tennessee.   They are medium to large sized (2 ½” to 5”) projectiles and knives with straight or recurved blade edges, barbed shoulders, corner notches and straight or expanded stems with straight bases.  Distribution includes Ten

This point is primarily found  in areas associated with Anasazi sites.  This point may be found on the Colorado Plateau in the southern Manti La Sal range and southward to the Su Site of New Mexico and westward to Navajo Mountain.
