White streaking is commonly present along with white fossil remnants.
A variation is a higher quality chert ranging from a homogenous bluish
white to a very pale gray

Heat Treatment: Heat treatment produces
pinkish hues, blue hues, or a smoky medium bluish gray color. The
higher quality homogenous chert has greater opacity and turns white.

Iowa. Has been reported in n Jefferson, Henry, Louisa, and Van
Buren Counties, Iowa
