Uvalde Gravel Chert is associated with various formations and deposited in the Uvalde Gravels in upland exposures and along rivers and streams east of the Nueces River in the eastern portion of the southern Texas Plains and into Tamaulipas Mexico  Chert producing formations which contribute to the gravels include; Edwards Plateau Formation, Devils River Formation (Salmon Peak Formation, Santa Elena Formation), McKnight Formation, Willis Formation and possibly the Goliad Formation.  Same as the Willis Gravel Chert, en extension of the Citronelle Gravels.
