Tuscarora Quartzite is associated with the Tuscarora Quartzite Formation of the Judy Gap Group of the Appalachian Basin of Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, and Maryland.  Occurs as beds with primary outcroppings occurring on Tuscarora Mountains in Pennsylvania, Kishacoquilla Gap in Pennsylvania and throughout the Appalachian Basin.  Named Massanutten Quartzite for exposures on the Massanutten Mountains.
