Shinarump Chert is associated with the Shinarump Conglomerate Member of
the Chinle Formation
of southeastern Utah. Primarily occurs as nodules from Comb Wash
to Cottonwood Creek to Mormon Pasture Creek and from Red House Cliff of
the San Juan River to the north Armstrong Canyon and west to White
Canyon, San Jan County, Utah. Reported into the Zuni Mountains,
New Mexico.
