Plympton Chert is associated with the Plympton Formation of western Utah and eastern Nevada.  Primarily occuring as nodules, beds and stringers with outcroppings in Plympton Ridge of the central Confusion Range, Butte Mountains, Medicine Range, Maverick Springs Range, Phalen Butte, northern Cherry Creek Range, and between Indian and Brush Creek in the southern Pequop Mountains as abundant nodules and beds in Nevada.
