Marble Falls Chert is associated with the Marble Falls Limestone Formation of the Fort Worth Basin of north central Texas and occurs as abundant nodules with outcroppings on the north bank of the Colorado River above the bridge at Marble Falls and in the Riley Mountains.  This formation extends from the Red River to Fort Worth, though most of the formation is subsurface.
