Description of Physical Characteristics:

Color:  Lambrix Chert ranges in color from a sandy brown, pale brawn, or dark brown with the brownish coloration grading from a gray to light gray.  The center of many nodules contains a semi-translucent chalcedony like blue gray.  The outer cortex is a reddish color.  The chert may range from banded to solid.

Texture: 
Medium to fine grain

Luster: Dull on courser grain to waxy or vitreous on finer grain
