Havallah Chert is associated with the Trenton Canyon Member of the Havallah Formation of Nevada.  Primarily occurs in thin layers up to 4 inches thick on Battle Mountain, in the Shoshone Range, Toiyabe Range, and thought to be exposed in the Burner Hills of northern Elko County, Nevada.
