Description of Physical Characteristics:

Color:  Hartville Chert ranges from most commonly colors and hues of yellow, orange, red, brown, and purple.  Black mottling and dendrites are most commonly seen in the brown, yellow and orange colors.  Clear silica lines may be present.  They material that is yellow and red is also called Hartville Jasper.

Fine grain

Luster: Waxy to glossy
