Distribution Comments:
Hamilton County Chert occurs as nodules near Evant, Texas.  It has been suggested that these might be associated Comanche Peak Limestone Formation or the Walnut Limestone Formation of the Fredericksburg Group. The Comanche Limestone Formation comfortably overlies the Walnut Limestone Formation, which overlies the Edward Limestone Formation.  Geological references do not mention chert occurring in the Walnut or Comanche Peak formations, but chert is abundant in the Edwards Limestone Formation.  This might be a variation of Edwards Chert.
