Fish Haven Chert is associated with the Fish Haven Dolomite Formation of northeastern and western Utah, southern Idaho and into eastern Nevada.  Primarily occurs as nodules along Fish Haven Creek, Bear Lake County, Idaho and Lion Mountain and the Little Pigeon Mountains, Box Elder County, Utah.  Most of formation is a course  light gray alternating dark gray dolomite with chert nodules occurring towards the bottom.  Has been mapped in the southern Egan Range, Goshute Range, Toana Range, Pequop Mountains, Wood Hills, Red Hills, and southern Deep Creek Range in Nevada.
