Emmons Peak Quartzite is associated with the Emmons Formation of northeastern Utah and northwestern Colorado.  Primary outcroppings occur along the Emmons Peak in the Uinta Mountains also outcrops on Juniper Mountain, northern Cross Mountain, and Dinosaur National Monument
