Ellenburger Chert is associated with the Ellenburger Limestone Formation of central Texas.  The Ellenburger Limestone Formation occurs with limestone, dolomite, and chert.  Primary outcroppings occur in Ellenburger Hills, Burnet County, into western Crane County, northern Burnet Count, and along Honey Creek in Riley Mountain, southeastern Llano County, Texas.
