Casa Diablo Obsidian occurs as outcroppings
and nodules on Lookout
Mountain about 5 miles south of Mono Lake / Lee Vining west of Crowley Lake, Mono County, California.
Also occur on Prospect Ridge and Sawmill Ridge. Lookout Mountain,
Prospect Ridge, and Sawmill Ridge are all separate geochemical groups.
The most impressive outcropping is a 500 foot hill of obsidian along Hot
Creek.
