Park Chert is similar to chalcedony with a opaque base of white and
translucent hues ranging from light yellow, light to dark gray or light
brown. Slight mottling
or banding might be present. Black dendritic inclusions may be
present.

Distribution Comments:
Browns Park Chert is associated with the Browns Park Formation of
southern Wyoming and into Colorado. Primary outcroppings occur in
the Yampa Valley of Wyoming to the Axial Basin of Colorado, the
Deception Creek drainage, and the lower Spring Creek drainage, Sand Wash
Basin in Colorado extending to the western edge of the Gore Range,
Colorado.
