Barrington Argillite outcrops around Barrington in southeastern Rhode Island.  The associated formation was not mentioned.  The only geological formation in Rhode Island listed as having argillite is the Hopping Formation which has a reddish argillite.  This does not appear to be the same argillite as shown in the Hoppin Formation.  The Rhode Island Formation does produce minor amounts of a similar appearing slate.
