Archaeological Context:

The Houserville Jasper Site was a lithic reduction site used extensively during he archaic period for production of points, drills, crappers, and other stone tools.  Later it was used by nomadic groups which engaged in the recovering and processing of jasper which used these objects at other sites within the region.
