Arcturus Chert occurs as nodules in the Arcturus Formation of east central Nevada.  The Arcturus Formation outcrops in on Buck Mountain, Egan Range primarily near Giroux Wash, Cherry Creek, and central and southern Butte Mountains.  Chert most commonly occurs in the north central Egan Range, Nevada.
