Distribution:
Ajax Chert is associated with the Emerald Dolomite Member of the Ajax Limestone Formation of central Utah occurring as nodules and lenses.  Primary outcroppings occur in the Tintic District, Juab County, Utah. Named for the Emerald Mine (Emerald Member) and the Ajax Mine (Ajax Formation).
